4th of July Garland

I finished my star garland and I'm in love with how it looks! And...I finished off two, almost three spools of crochet thread, so that makes me happy!
I think it might be nice to starch the stars to make them keep their shape a little better and not curl up...but they still looked cute, I think.
How was your 4th of July? My husband and I enjoyed relaxing and then we went to Sonic for dinner and got hot dogs. (American, right?) And we went to see Brave which was really cute. On the way home we were trying to find a place to park to watch fireworks and there was a parking lot near our house with lots of people waiting to watch the fireworks...we assumed this meant it would be a good view, it's our first year here so we had no idea. It turned out you could barely see them and half the people left as soon as they started. Britton and I watched the few we could see for a little while and then decided to come home, it was so muggy and gross out anyway, so we came back home and watched 'How to Train Your Dragon'. I noticed we had a Scottish/Viking theme going...maybe we should have watched something more patriotic?
But it was a good holiday overall. I loved having Britton home for a whole day in the middle of the week. :)
What did you do?
♥ Anna

  2. Burnell and I went over to Carla and Rudi's and had fun eating together (salmon, not hot dogs!) and lighting the fireworks that Kenneth Clark gave us! We then joined Chris and Lisa and family and Dolores and Michael to watch the BIG fireworks show in Yoncalla, Oregon. There were at least 4 "grand finales" !!
