keeping busy

Can you believe it's December already? I can't! It feels like it was just December not that long ago. But I'm glad! Because that means in just 14 days I will be back home in Oregon to see family and friends for Christmas! We are going to spend a few days at the coast which will be amazing. Nothing beats the rocky Oregon coast. Love it.
I have been busy getting ready and I made a check list for every day until we leave so I don't forget anything and get everything done in time. (we'll see if it works!) And I also planned out my menu for the next two weeks and did all the grocery shopping so I don't have to worry about that! Now I can focus on Christmas presents and such.

For myself, I just finished knitting Hogwart's Express in some lovely Gloss Fingering Yarn from Knit Picks in Sea Spray. It's 70% merino wool and 30% silk. It's so lovely! This was my first time knitting with beads and it was so much fun! I loved seeing the little owl eyes appear as I went along. I used the Drop Free Method as this tutorial shows. Once I get it blocked and there is a day with good lighting I will get some pictures of it!

I also made another shirt for myself from the pattern I made off of one of my favorite t shirts. It's so comfy! I might try to make one or two more to take on our trip to Oregon.

I've been reading Les Miserables (so good!) getting ready for the new movie to come out. I can't wait! It looks amazing! I have been a huge Les Miserables fan for years so I'm excited for this new version! And the fact that it's a musical makes it even more awesome. (Is anyone else going to have a hard time not singing along with every song?)
I hope you all have a lovely rest of the weekend!
♥ Anna

  1. I am reading Les Mis too--but for the first time. I know nothing of the story. I want to see if I can squeeze in the old musical too before the movie comes out.

  2. Lovely post! I love all your projects. And you are so organized! For the last few trips I've taken I've left everything for the night before...not recommended!!

    Can't wait to see you!

  3. Hello there! It's been a while (I've disappeared from the blogging world for quite some time), but I used to follow you back in the "Thoughts and Daydreams" day! It's nice to see some familiar faces still around upon taking up blogging again. :)
I've been wanting to read Les Mis myself for quite some time. Maybe that will go on my to-do-over-Christmas-break list.
Also, the shirt you made? I see you're still making beautiful work!
