Kawaii Winter Wonderland Sampler

Hello friends!
How was your weekend? Mine was rather lazy, but lovely all the same. My husband and I just sat around watching movies from the library and I stitched away on my Winter Sampler. I started this back in November and it's supposed to be a countdown to Christmas but I didn't finish it in time. My goal is to get it finished by next Christmas!
I didn't have the right count linen so my mom sent me this waste canvas to use over some linen I have. It's been really nice! But I think for my next project I will get the right kind of linen. I think it will look less messy when it's finished! But for this project I'm happy with it!
This is seriously so much fun to stitch! I never really liked cross stitch but Amanda and Ashleigh have converted me with all their cute patterns! You should go check them out at The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery! Seriously, I think I'm addicted for life. I also signed up for the Monthly Woodland Sampler pattern which I am super excited to get started on! It will be so fun to get a new pattern emailed to me each month! It's like getting a present every month!

This weekend I finally got to stitch my favorite square, the penguin! I have an obsession with penguins! Isn't this one so cute?
And a fruitcake! I changed the color of the stand because if this fruitcake had come from my kitchen, it would most likely be on an aqua cake stand. ;)

Mmm, don't you love a good cup of hot cocoa on a chilly winter evening? I also changed the mug color on this because I'm just so in love with turquoise and aqua. I think it will fit better into my style of holiday decorating as well. :)

I ran out of white thread with all my stitching this weekend so we had to run into town and get some and I decided that it would be a good time to get some french macrons. I have never tried one before but I've been dying to! So we bought these, frozen, from Trader Joe's. They were SO yummy! I'm sure they would be even yummier fresh, it's on my to-do list to get to a bakery that makes some and try one! I'd also like trying to make some! They can be so many different pretty colors!
What did you do this weekend? Try anything new?

  1. Wait, which fabric is the waste fabric? It is looking great!! You are zipping along and I bet you will be finished by the very latest, March! I hope to finish mine by next Christmas too.
