A Pencil Case

A dear friend of mine who is an incredible artist requested I make her a pencil case similar to the knitting needle cases I make. So, through lots of iMessages, photos and a bazillion questions to make sure I got it perfect, I made this fold in half pencil case.

The exterior fabric is Dandelion in turquoise by Michael Miller. I just love it! And paired with this yellow and white gingham it's like a summer picnic with lemonade.
I made a crocheted loop to fasten it shut with this lovely turquoise button I have had in my stash for years. I'm so happy it finally has a place to shine and be used and loved!
There are lots of pockets for her pencils and I did a shorter pocket in front of each pocket for when her pencils are to short for the pockets. She uses her pencils until they are tiny nibs! She inspires me!
You can check out Ella's incredible artwork in her shop Ella Beyer Fine Art on Etsy or check out her blog, Creative Soul.
I hope you're all having a lovely week!
